Haar and brume
Collaborative installation with Cassia Streb, for soundpedro, Angels Gate Cultural Center, San Pedro, CA, June 7, 2025.
Twenty sounding objects assembled from wireless speakers and LEDs, arranged in a grid on a circular landing overlooking, on one side, a decommissioned military base, and the Los Angeles Harbor and Pacific Ocean on the other.
These cycle through recordings of variations on pink noise: brushes on drumheads, distant traffic, flowing rivers, rustling leaves, and an electric kettle boiling.
This mirrors the experience of coastal fog, enveloping participants over fifteen minutes in a shifting, rolling wave of sound, before emerging again into their natural surroundings.
